Maria Jose Alvarado Miss World Honduras 2014 found murdered

Maria Jose Alvarado, the reigning Miss World Honduras, has been found murdered just few days before she was supposed to fly off to London to compete in Miss World 2014 pageant in London. She and her sister Sofia Trinidad disappeared last week on Thursday after they were seen leaving a local party and getting into a vehicle without a license plate. Both have now been found dead days after going missing in Santa Barbara. Police said they found the bodies of Maria and her sister Sofia on a river bank, after mounting an exhaustive search. Police have arrested a few suspects, and the investigation is ongoing in this kidnapping and murder case. Honduras is the world's most violent country with a murder rate above 90 people per 100,000, about double the rate of its closest peers Venezuela, Belize and El Salvador. The very beautiful and full of life Maria was just 19 years of age. She was crowned Señorita Honduras 2014 at the finals of the national pageant held on April 26' 2014. May her soul rest in peace!

Miss Colombia 2014 Winners of Special Awards

Miss Colombia 2014 (Concurso Nacional de Belleza de Colombia 2014) pageant organised a special awards contest during the preliminary activities, which saw twenty-six stunning ladies of Miss Colombia 2014 being awarded in varying categories. The contestants were awarded on the basis of their figure, national costume, face, elegance, punctuality, photogenic qualities and much more. Ariadna María Gutiérrez Arévalo crowned Miss Colombia 2014

At the finals pageant night of Miss Colombia 2014 held on November 17’ 2014 in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Ariadna María Gutiérrez Arévalo from Sucre has been crowned Miss Colombia 2014 by her predecessor Paulina Vega Dieppa, the Miss Colombia 2013 who is going to represent Colombia at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant to be held in Doral, USA on January 25' 2015. Ariadna is 20 years of age, 178cm tall, and has vital statistics of 87-60-90. She is a student of Communication workshop. Ariadna was also awarded with best face, queen of police and Miss Elegance titles at the special awards held during the preliminary event of Miss Colombia 2014 pageant. She will represent Colombia at Miss Universe 2015. At the same event Natalia Ochoa Calle was crowned Miss International Colombia 2014. The runners-up at the event were: 1st Runner-up - Jessica Paola Castañeda Guevara, 2nd Runner-up – Viviana Alexandra Dávila Giraldo, 3rd Runner-up - Daniela Andrea Castañeda Pardo.

Kristina Georgieva crowned Miss Universe Bulgaria 2014

Kristina Georgieva has been crowned the winner of Miss Universe Bulgaria 2014 at the finals of the national pageant held on November 16' 2014 at Paradise Center in Sofia, Bulgaria. She was crowned by her predecessor and outgoing queen Veneta Krasteva, the Miss Universe Bulgaria 2013. Radinela Chusheva, Evelyn Nikolova and Pamela Kristeva finished as the runner-ups at the finals. Kristina competed with twenty (20) other beauties competing for the coveted crown. She will now represent Bulgaria at Miss Universe 2014 pageant to be held in Doral, USA on January 25' 2015. Kristina is 22 years of age and stands tall at 175 cm. She is currently studying business administration in Netherlands.

Gimena Ghilarducci of Argentina wins Face of Beauty International 2014

At the finals of the pageant 'Face of Beauty International 2014' held on November 15' 2014 in Taichung, Taiwan, Gimena Ghilarducci of Argentina has been crowned Miss Face of Beauty International 2014. She was crowned by her predecessor Diamond Langi from Tonga, the Miss Face of Beauty International 2013. She defeated 40 other contestants competing for the title from countries across the globe. She also won the special award for Miss Photogenic. Her court included - First Runner-up - Nisheeka Lal from Fiji (Also Winner of Tourism Award), Second Runner-up - Stefanie Willliams from England (Also Winner of Best in Evening Wear), Third Runner-up - Maddison-Clare Sloanne from Australia (Also Winner of Miss Online Voting), and Fourth Runner-up - Xiao-Wen Chen from Taiwan (Also winner of Best in Talent). Hungary, Paraguay, Russia, Peru and Canada comprised the remaining Top 10 finalists. Hiwot Bekele Mamo appointed Miss Universe Ethiopia 2014

Hiwot Bekele Mamo has been appointed Miss Universe Ethiopia 2014, and will represent Ethiopia at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant scheduled to be held in Doral, Florida USA on January 25' 2015. She succeeds Maheder Tigabe, the Miss Universe Ethiopia 2013, who represented Ethiopia at Miss Universe 2013 pageant held last year in Moscow, Russia. Hiwot, who successfully represented Ethiopia at Miss Grand International 2014 held last month in Bangkok, Thailand and finished as the first runner up at the finals, will arrive in the United States of America in early December for preparation for the competition. The Ethiopian beauty who received accolades for her performance at Miss Grand International said, “This is a great opportunity for my country to share our cultural diversity and talent before a world-wide audience on one of the greatest stages. I am honored to represent Ethiopia!”

At the final coronation of Miss International 2014 held on November 11’ 2014 at Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan, special awards in different categories were given to the gorgeous ladies. Miss Earth 2014 – Schedule of Events

One of the Big 4 beauty pageants; Miss Earth 2014 has officially set on fire from November 7’ 2014 Quezon City, Philippines with the arrival of 89 delegates from around the world in race for the coveted Miss Earth 2014 crown. This is the 14th edition of the Miss Earth beauty pageant. Miss Earth 2014 pageant will be packed with adventure, fun, excitement and learning sessions for the gorgeous ladies. As the theme “Beauty for a cause” suggests, the event will be promoting ecotourism which aims to raise awareness among the tourists and travellers regarding ecological balance and conservation of resources in order to directly benefit the economic development. The main event commenced with the orientation of the delegates held on November 10’ 2014 at Green Sun Hotel, followed by visits to various schools and tourist places that in turn enhance their knowledge regarding eco-friendly activities. The pageant constitutes of numerous competitions which will provide a platform to the beauties to flaunt their talent. The pageant winner is expected to be involved in international projects, which are also promoted during the pageant's broadcast. The delegates also take part in tree planting ceremonies, environmental and cultural immersion programs, sponsor visits and tours. Apart from a strong emphasis on environmental protection programs, Miss Earth also aims to showcase and promote various tourist destinations. Jhataleka Malhotra wins Miss Internet Beauty title

Jhataleka Malhotra, the representative of India at Miss International 2014, won the title of Miss Internet Beauty at the recently concluded pageant in Tokyo, Japan having received the highest number of public votes in an online poll conducted by the official pageant site. Jhataleka, who is 20 years of age and stands tall at 178 cm, was amongst the top favourites to win the Miss International 2014 by several pageant experts worldwide (including Angelopedia). She, however, did not place amongst the Top 10 finalists at Miss International 2014. She was probably let down by her stylists and designers, and could not manage to make the requisite impact on the jury. And particularly, the choice of evening gown for her was not at all appropriate for such an important event - it was the least impressive!

Miss Universe Kenya 2014 Winner is Gaylyne Ayugi

At the finals gala night of Miss Universe Kenya 2014 pageant held on November 8’ 2014 at Jacaranda Hotel Westlands, Gaylyne Ayugi has been crowned Miss Universe Kenya 2014. She succeeds Rachel Marete, the Miss Universe Kenya 2005. Gaylyne, 19 years of age, defeated nine other contestants to clinch the coveted title. She will now represent Kenya at Miss Universe 2014 pageant to be held in Doral, USA on January 25' 2015. Julieth Kiruhi finished as first runner-up and Margareth Wanjiru was second runner-up.

Maira Alexandra Rodriguez to represent Venezuela at Miss Earth 2014

Stephanie de Zorzi has been dethroned of her title as Miss Venezuela Earth 2013, and Maira Alexandra Rodríguez has been appointed in lieu to represent Venezuela at the upcoming Miss Earth 2014 pageant to be held on November 29' 2014 in Manila, Philippines. Maira Alexandra Rodríguez was recently crowned Miss Earth Venezuela 2014 at the finals of the Miss Venezuela 2014 pageant held on October 9' 2014, and was supposed to represent Venezuela at Miss Earth 2015 pageant next year. However, due to dethronement of Stephanie de Zorzi , she will now compete at Miss Earth 2014 instead. Stephanie was stripped off her title as Miss Venezuela Earth 2013, which was apparently due to her gaining a few more pounds after a modeling job in México, and was consequently replaced with Miss Venezuela Earth 2014 Maira Alexandra Rodríguez.Maira, who represented the province of Amazonas at Miss Venezuela 2014, won the Miss Earth Venezuela title, and also received the special awards for Miss Confianza (Miss Confidence) and Miss Elegancia (Miss Elegance). The sudden appointment leaves her with very little time to prepare for the international pageant, and she will now need to put in serious efforts to become a strong contender for the Miss Earth 2014 title.

Asha Bhat is Miss India Supranational 2014

Miss Diva 2014 second runner-up Asha Bhat will be India's representative at Miss Supranational 2014 pageant, scheduled to be held in Poland on December 5' 2014. Asha also hails from Bangalore, like Noyonita Lodh the winner of Miss Diva Universe 2014. She is an engineering student at R.V College of Engineering in Bangalore, and is fairly multi-talented given her dancing, singing and painting skills. She looks all set to win the first ever Miss Supranational title for India. Miss Diva Universe 2014 pageant was won by Noyonita Lodh, who will represent India at Miss Universe 2015 to be held on January 25' 2015 in Florida, USA. Miss International 2014 – Activities

As the Miss International 2014 commenced from October 27’ 2014, the gorgeous delegates from around the world seemed so excited and enthusiastic in participating in the chain of activities. Initiating with the orientation programme where the girls were briefed about the reason of the pageant and its rules and regulations to the showcasing of ancient Japanese tradition. The orientation was followed by Tea ceremony classes where the contestants had the taste of Japanese tea with enriching tea making session. At the Shibuya City the beauties had a fun filled shopping trip accompanied by tasting the delicacies of Japan. They also learned the eccentric traditional Japanese dance forms. Miss Universe Guam 2014 Winner is Brittany Bell

At the finals gala night of Miss Universe Guam 2014 held on October 28’ 2014 at Hyatt Regency, Guam, Brittany Bell has been crowned Miss Universe Guam 2014 by her predecessor Alixes Scott, Miss Universe Guam 2013. Former Miss Arizona USA 2010 Brittany Bell, stands tall at 5’ 8”. She will now represent Guam at Miss Universe 2014 pageant to be held in Doral, USA on January 25' 2015. Brittany, 26 years of age, defeated seven other contestants to clinch the coveted crown. She was also awarded with Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit title. At the same event Loriann Rabe was crowned Miss International Guam 2014 and bagged the Miss Photogenic title. Cristina Tabet was awarded with Miss Congeniality title.
