The 93rd edition of Miss America pageant will be held on 19th December 2019 in Mohegan Sun, Uncasville, Connecticut. It will be the ninth year that the competition would not be held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Miss America 2019, Nia Franklin of New York will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 Swe Zin Htet became the first openly gay woman to compete for the title of Miss Universe. Swe came out to the world few days prior to the beauty pageant held on 9th December 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. The brave 21-year-old decided to come out as gay openly despite same-sex relationships are still being criminalized in her home country Myanmar.

The delegates from the top 3 countries included Miss Universe Mexico 2019, Miss Universe South Africa 2019 and Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019. This is the part where the delegates try to impress the jury with their answers before the judges make their final call on the winner.
