Miss Earth 2014 Question and Answer round

At the finals pageant night of Miss Earth 2014 held on November 29’ 2014 at the UP Theater in Manila, Philippines, the Top 8 gorgeous contestants of Miss Earth 2014 pageant had to go through the Question and Answer (Q&A) round. The contestants were asked questions related to women empowerment, nature, beauty pageants and their relevance etc. Lets have a look at the Questions and Answers of the Top 8 finalists. Country - Brazil; Finalist - Leticia Silva. Question: When can you say that a woman is truly empowered? Answer: A woman is empowered if she can do what she wants. It comes from the inside, from the heart. Country - Mongolia; Finalist - Tugsuu Idersaikhan. Question: In your opinion, what differentiates this beauty pageant from other international competitions? Answer: Miss Earth pageant is different because it is about people. It empowers people. It’s about the nature that’s why it’s different, that’s why it’s better. Country - Slovak Republic; Finalist - Daria Fabrici. Question: Have beauty pageants lost their relevance? Why or why not? Answer: In my opinion, all girls in this pageant are beautiful, but also they have something inside that is very important. And I think that that it’s not just about looking good, but doing good. Country - Venezuela; Finalist - Maira Alexandra Rodriguez. Question: What is the significance of beauty pageants in this time and age? Answer: This pageant is very important because it is an initiative to protect and save the earth. Question: You’ve been doing a lot of great things in the Philippines in the past month and I was wondering which one do you think should be the one that should be done first by all of us and why? Answer: That’s really a hard question because every single activity that Miss Earth Organization has us girls doing had just been amazing. My favorite has been the school tours that we’ve gone to. I personally love little kids, I tend to gravitate to them and just if we are able to put a smile on their face, that makes us happy and put a smiles to our faces too. Question: If you win tonight’s crown, what will you do to help reverse the effects of global warming? Answer: Global warming has been known for being a very long, overdue issue. That is why, if I am crowned tonight, I will use my title to inspire others, to help our environment, and we start with the kids…because the kids are the people of tomorrow. And if we teach them, they will also help the community. And that's what I will do if I am crowned Miss Earth tonight. Country - Russia; Finalist - Anastasia Trusova. Question: So how has this pageant changed the way you look at the environment after you’ve joined? Answer: After this pageant, I will promote ecotourism all over the world. I will promote environmental advocacy. I want to create my own organization which will conducted with different world organizations. We will care our nature, our environment and help our world. Answer: I think what we should do is to start by ourselves, do step by step, don’t try to do the big things first. To see around ourselves and try to do it better.

Miss World 2014 - 20 Finalists for Top Model challenge selected

At the 64th edition of Miss World beauty pageant, Top 20 finalists were selected in the challenge event of Top Model organized on November 28’ 2014. In the event for selection of Top 20 models, the gorgeous contestants wore their cocktail dresses and walked the ramp. Since Miss World is not all about beauty, therefore a panel of judges judged them on the basis of their grace, beauty, poise, elegance, attitude, their walk and their presence on ramp. Out of 124 beauties, Top 20 finalists were selected excelled in all terms. Sixteenth entry to our Top Sixteen (16) Hot Picks for Miss Earth 2014 is Miss Earth India 2014 Alankrita Sahai. Alankrita is 20 years of age, 165cm tall, and has vital statistics of 81-61-86. She is a Business Developement Officer and an artist. Her hobbies include dancing, reading and travelling. Alankrita competed in regional pageant in the year 2009 and was crowned Miss Noida 2009. She then participated in Miss Diva Universe 2014 pageant where she finished as first runner-up and was crowned Miss Earth India 2014. Fifteenth entry to our Top Sixteen (16) Hot Picks for Miss Earth 2014 is Miss Earth Kenya 2014 Lydia Marcella Manani. Lydia is 22 years of age, 180cm tall, and has vital statistics of 81-61-91. Lydia earlier competed with thirteen (13) other ladies in Miss Kenya 2014 pageant held on October 11’ 2014 at the Carnivore in Nairobi, and was crowned Miss Kenya 2014 getting a straight ticket to Philippines, as she becomes Kenya’s representative at the global platform of the Miss Earth pageant. In the year 2002 Džejla Glavović from Bosnia & Herzegovina was crowned Miss Earth 2002 but was dethroned a few months later by the Miss Earth Organization for not fulfilling the duties stipulated in her contract. First runner-up, Winfred Omwakwe from Kenya continued the responsibilities as Miss Earth 2002. Lydia does have it all to be the second Miss Earth from Kenya and clinch the coveted title of Miss Earth 2014. What do you think? Fourteenth entry to our Top Sixteen (16) Hot Picks for Miss Earth 2014 is Miss Earth Venezuela 2014 Maira Alexandra Rodriguez. Maira Alexandra is 22 years of age, 176cm tall, and has vital statistics of 86-58-89. She was a student of Public Relations and is a model by profession. Maira first participated in Miss Venezuela World 2013 pageant representing the Distrito Capital state. She could not win the pageant. She then participated in Miss Aragua where she was selected among the representatives of the state toward the Miss Venezuela pageant. Maira competed with twenty four (24) other beautiful contestants in the Miss Venezuela 2014 pageant and was crowned Miss Venezuela Earth 2014 by her predecessor Stephanie de Zorzi, who was supposed to represent Venezuela at Miss Earth 2014 pageant. But on November 3’ 2014, Miss Venezuela Organization decided not to let her compete due to her weight issues. Maira was then appointed to represent Venezuela at the ongoing Miss Earth 2014 pageant. Maira was also awarded with Miss Confidence and Miss Elegance title at the special awards of Miss Venezuela 2014 pageant. Venezuela had won its first Miss Earth crown in the year 2013, when Alyz Henrich was crowned Miss Earth 2013. Maira is a strong contender to win the second crown in a row for Venezuela. Miss Earth 2014 Hot Picks - Patrycja Dorywalska (Poland)

Tenth entry to our Top Sixteen (16) Hot Picks for Miss Earth 2014 is Miss Earth Poland 2014 Patrycja Dorywalska. Patrycja is 24 years of age, 175cm tall, and has vital statistics of 89-64-91. She graduated from the State Higher Vocational School in Leszno, and currently persuing master's degree at the University of Economics in Poznan. She is a model by profession.
