Alexis SueAnn Seow Su-Yin - Age: 22 Years, Height: 171 cm Alexis dabbles in television, radio and event hosting, and is also a talent. She lives by the saying, “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” A confident and vocal young lady, she believes that she has the willpower and determination to win the Miss Universe Malaysia title. Her proudest moment was when she climbed Mount Kinabalu to help raise over RM 50,000 for The National Cancer Society of Malaysia. She hopes to continue hosting and acting in the future, and dreams of opening a day-care centre for pets someday. Given the opportunity, she would also like to raise awareness on cyber-bullying and start campaigns in schools to educate the younger generation.

Asha Kaur Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Asha Kaur Ranjit Singh - Age: 24 Years, Height: 169 cm A final year dental student and freelance model, Asha was a finalist in a local beauty pageant. In school, she was one of the top scorers and a track athlete for the 1,500 metres and 3,000 metres category. Describing herself as confident and ambitious, she can speak English, Bahasa Malaysia, Tamil and Punjabi. Asha dreams of becoming a successful model with her own modelling and beauty academy to groom young talents, and also hopes to try her hand at television hosting. In her free time, she enjoys dancing to Bollywood tunes, and learning to play the Dhol (an Indian musical instrument).

Charlotte Tan Bee Theng Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Charlotte Tan Bee Theng - Age: 24 Years, Height: 168 cm A chemist by training, Charlotte is also a talent who has appeared in television commercials and print advertisements. She describes herself as optimistic and versatile, and is the kind of person who enjoys stepping out of her comfort zone. Her proudest moment was when she was one of the four contestants selected to represent Malaysia in a model search competition. Charlotte dreams of becoming an actress and her idols are Gal Gadot and Lily Collins. She is also passionate about saving the environment, and hopes to raise awareness on reducing waste and the use of plastics.

Charmaine Chew Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Charmaine Chew Qi En - Age: 20 Years, Height: 172 cm Charmaine nurtured the dream of becoming a beauty queen ever since she was a little girl. A straight ‘A’s student, she made the difficult decision of deferring her studies and turned down a scholarship to further her studies in the UK to focus on this competition. Having performed on stage since she was four years old, Charmaine is interested in performing arts and wants to make a name in the entertainment industry. Although she had faced some personal struggles, she believes that it will not stop her from reaching her dreams. Compassionate by nature, she is also an active volunteer who spends her time volunteering at soup kitchens, refugee centres, charity homes, hospitals, as well as helping the homeless. Charmaine hopes to use the Miss Universe Malaysia platform to raise awareness on mental health, which is a cause that is close to her heart.

Jaipreet Dhillon Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Jaipreet Kaur Dhillon - Age: 23 Years, Height: 173 cm Jai recently completed her degree in Business and Commerce, and found that her experience as the President of the Netball Club in university to be most enriching, as she enjoyed winning tournaments and the camaraderie with other strong women. She aspires to become a successful social entrepreneur, and would like to empower other women, both socially and economically with initiatives in education and skills workshops especially in rural areas. She is also an animal lover, and is keen to support shelters that rehabilitate abandoned and stray animals.

Jane Teoh Jun Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Jane Teoh Jun - Age: 20 Years, Height: 178 cm A student and a part-time model, Jane won a local modelling search last year where she had the opportunity to represent Malaysia in the international finals, and received a top 10 placing. Despite not being confident of speaking in front of crowds, Jane found the courage to step out of her comfort zone and take on new challenges. She would like to become a change agent, and inspire those around her. It is her wish to travel around the world and get involved in volunteer work, specifically with youths and her peers to address current social issues that they may face.

Jasebel Robert Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Jasebel Shalani Robert - Age: 22 Years, Height: 171 cm Jasebel is of Chinese-Indian parentage, and is currently studying for her degree in Mass Communications. Proficient in English, Mandarin and Bahasa, she enjoys playing piano in her free time. Jasebel describes herself as confident, humble and willing to learn from her own mistakes. Having overcome her initial stage fright, she feels that she is now mentally prepared to be in this competition. Jasebel dreams of starting a non-profit organisation in the future to address food wastage in restaurants and homes, and develop a solution to help eliminate hunger in this country. If she wins the title, she would also like to empower young women everywhere to embrace and celebrate their own strength, capabilities and accomplishments.

Jessy Gantle Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Finalist

Jessy Gantle - Age: 23 Years, Height: 165 cm This Iban-Bidayuh beauty from Kapit, Sarawak grew up in a rural area, which has helped shape her into a strong and resilient individual. An aspiring model, she has won several local pageants in her home state. Describing herself as a person who is committed to the things that she does, she is persistent when it comes to achieving what she has set out to accomplish. As such, she hopes that she can be a good role model to the young women in her community. Her dream is to travel the world and set up her own modelling agency someday. If she wins this title, she would like to bring awareness to her native heritage, and draw attention to the plight of her people living in rural areas of Sarawak, especially in Kapit. Working with NGOs, she wants to help improve the infrastructure, transportation, education and internet access of her home state, and bring modernisation to rural parts of Sarawak.

Kaayathri Pramasivam - Age: 25 Years, Height: 172 cm Kaayathri, or fondly known as Kaya is an assistant pharmacist from Kuala Lumpur. As a classical dancer who also plays the veena, Kaya believes that success is not easily achievable, but to be successful, one must give their hundred per cent commitment and effort in whatever they do. Despite the personal difficulties that she faced previously because of her skin problems, she has managed to regain her confidence and self-esteem to participate in several pageants and modelling competitions.

Kirsten Wong Yee Mun - Age: 22 Years, Height: 171 cm Kirsten is making her second attempt at the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant. This advertising and design student is not easily discouraged, and continues to pursue her dream of being in this pageant despite the detractors around her. Her ambition is to become a businesswoman, and given the opportunity, she would like to help the underprivileged by providing them with access to education which will help transform their lives for the better.

Liliana Fernandez - Age: 20 Years, Height: 172 cm Liliana is of Eurasian descent and strongly believes that beauty is defined by one’s confidence and self trust, no matter how they look. Currently undergoing an internship for her Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Liliana’s proudest moment was when she represented Malaysia in a modelling competition last year. She aspires to become a top model and an inspiration to others by sharing her own personal experience and challenges in the industry. She is also passionate about helping the orang asli children in Malaysia, and would like to support them going into their villages to teach.

Lysandra Gabriel Storie - Age: 20 Years, Height: 168 cm Lysandra, or fondly known as Lee from Sibu is of Iban descent, and is proficient in her Iban native language, along with English, Mandarin and Bahasa. Having undergone some personal struggles in her life, she found the strength to pull through to become who she is today. Based on her experience, Lysandra would like to dedicate herself to community work in the future, and spread love and blessings to inspire others to achieve great things in their lives.

Maria Devonne Escobia - Age: 24 Years, Height: 165 cm Maria who is of Visaya descent, is a student and a dancer, and has participated in a local pageant. Her proudest achievement was being the youngest and only female to be nominated for ‘Best Featured Dance’ at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. Although she did not win, she is extremely proud of the recognition as this was something she had worked very hard on after she made a decision to take her dancing career seriously. In the near future, Maria aspires to become a successful businesswoman and create projects related to performing arts to provide other artists with a creative outlet.

Mellisa Wong Yi Sheong - Age: 22 Years, Height: 169 cm Mellisa is currently studying for her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and is also a part-time tutor. She hopes to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology but is open to considering other specialties. Although she was unsuccessful in her attempt at this pageant last year, she believes that she has the determination and drive to do better this round. Mellisa intends to start her own business someday, possibly a floral shop to fulfil her mother’s dream or an education centre so that she can continue her passion in teaching children.

Nathasha Aprillia Benggon - Age: 23 Years, Height: 176 cm Nathasha who is of Kadazan Dusun ethnicity is a warm and determined young lady who has participated in a number of local pageants. She is one who does not give up easily, and she hopes to inspire the same in others. Natasha loves to sing, dance and can play many different musical instruments including the piano, guitar and traditional Sabahan musical instruments.

Sabrina Thevy Arumugam - Age: 25 Years, Height: 177 cm Sabrina, who is a veterinary doctor, credits her mother for giving her the courage to complete her medical degree, and is making a second attempt at the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant. She would like to own a veterinary hospital someday to care for stray animals. Sabrina is also passionate about fashion, and dreams of creating her own fashion line. Should she be crowned, she intends to advocate a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians by imparting her knowledge on the importance of living with a positive mindset, and being healthy and beautiful, both inside and out.

Shahraswaty Nesaretnam - Age: 21 Years, Height: 170 cm Shahrashwaty, or fondly known as Shahras is currently pursuing her psychology degree, and plans to work in mental health or research upon graduation. She is proficient in English, Bahasa and Tamil, and is also interested in the Korean language. As a passionate and ambitious young lady, Shahras would like to use her voice to make a change in society by helping the less fortunate and advocating gender equality to create better opportunities. She would also like to educate and raise awareness amongst youth today on the importance of understanding and accepting differences, and tear down stereotypes that divide Malaysians.

Shannen Jade Totten - Age: 23 Years, Height: 171 cm Shannen who is of Chinese-British parentage is a full-time model and holds a degree in Fine Arts. Her biggest accomplishment is holding an art exhibition and having her artwork sold to galleries and art collectors. She also has experience in teaching art classes and conducting workshops at an international school. Due to her passion for creating and teaching art, she hopes to get more involved in art charities in the future and open an art studio to hold classes and workshops for the underprivileged. She would also like to use the Miss Universe Malaysia platform to highlight the local art industry and showcase works from local art communities.
